The Office of Academic Advising assists you in the transition from high school to college and helps you to discover that your academic choices have a significant impact on achieving your goals.

A Focus on Your Success

We are committed to your success in college and look forward to partnering with you in making the most of your time at Emmanuel.

You are assigned a professional Academic Advisor to guide you on a path to success and serve as a resource during your first two years at Emmanuel. Together with your Advisor, you will explore and choose a major, select courses for each semester, and create your Academic Plan to help you exceed your academic expectations and graduate in a timely manner.

How We Work With You Every Step of the Way

You are assigned an Academic Advisor who will work with you until you declare your major. We will meet regularly in individual advising meetings and in group advising meetings with your peers. Your advisor's door is always open. To schedule a meeting, visit www.emmanuel.mywconline.com.  No question is too big or too small to discuss with your academic advisor. If we cannot give you an immediate answer, we will find the person or office to assist you.

During your sophomore year, we continue to build your Academic Plan for the remainder of your time at Emmanuel. This may include a study abroad     experience, in addition to an Internship in your area of study. Your Advisor guides you through the process to declare your major by March 1st. Once you declare your major, you will be assigned to work with a Faculty Advisor from the academic department of your major. In April, you will participate in the Sophomore Pinning Ceremony where you and your family celebrate this important college milestone of selecting your area of study.

As a transfer student, you have already experienced academic life at college. At Emmanuel, you will work immediately with your Academic Advisor to help you finalize your Academic Plan and choose the courses you need based on your transfer credits. As soon as you are ready, usually within your first semester at Emmanuel, you declare your major and move into your chosen department with a faculty advisor until graduation.
