You won't find a 17-acre campus, complete with the city of Boston, cultural landmarks, and a neighborhood full of college students just anywhere. But the search ends at Emmanuel College. 

Living on campus means no commute, full access to campus amenities, and one bill instead of rent, utilities, and internet as separate line items. Emmanuel's five residence halls house students from first year through senior year, each with its own character — from apartment-style upperclass living to traditional first-year halls a few steps from the Quad.

St. Julie Hall The St. Julie Hall is an 18-story, apartment-style residence hall housing approximately 460 upper-class students.
St. Ann Hall St. Ann Hall is a four-story residence hall housing approximately 225 first-year students.
Loretto Hall Loretto Hall is a five-story residence hall housing approximately 300 first-year, transfer, and returning students.
St. Joseph Hall St. Joseph Hall is a seven-story residence hall housing approximately 420 first-year and upper-class students.
Notre Dame Campus Notre Dame Campus is a three-story non-traditional residence hall housing approximately 50 students.

Living on campus is one of the best ways to take full advantage of your college experience. You’re part of the community from the moment you wake up: close to friends, classes, activities, events and the people and resources there to support you. It gives you the independence of living on your own, with a community and structure around you as you make that transition.

It’s convenient, too. There’s no commute, housing and utilities are bundled together, and at Emmanuel, you get all of that on a residential campus in the heart of Boston — with Fenway Park, the Museum of Fine Arts, MGM Music Hall and the rest of the city right outside your door.

It's one of the most common things alumni point to. Living on the same floor or in the same building creates the kind of everyday, low-effort contact that turns into lasting friendships — a hallway conversation, a shared common room, a study break — in a way that's harder to replicate if you're commuting in and out. Combined with clubs, events, and athletics happening steps from your dorm, on-campus living puts you in the middle of Emmanuel's social life by default.

It bundles rent, utilities, and internet into one predictable bill, so on paper it can be simpler than piecing together an off-campus lease. But price isn't really the comparison that matters here — what an off-campus apartment can't offer is the built-in community and support structure of campus itself.

No — Emmanuel's five residence halls are built for different stages of college life. First-year halls like St. Ann and Loretto put you close to the Quad and other new students, while St. Julie Hall offers apartment-style living for upperclassmen who want more independence without leaving campus. Either way, you're never far from class, friends, or the city.
