The Longwood Medical and Academic Area is a 213-acre community in Boston that brings together leading hospitals, research institutions, colleges, cultural organizations and life-science companies. More than 73,000 people work across Longwood, with its institutions generating approximately $30 billion in annual economic activity and attracting billions in research investment. It is home to organizations including Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Boston Children’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School—and to Emmanuel College.

The Longwood Medical and Academic Area is home to Emmanuel College, Harvard Medical School, Harvard School of Dental Medicine and Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, along with other Colleges of the Fenway academic and healthcare institutions.

Emmanuel students can pursue internships, research, clinical placements and other professional experiences with organizations throughout Longwood. Those opportunities span science and healthcare as well as business, communications, education, technology and other fields.

Emmanuel students spend four years studying in the same community where many pursue internships, research, clinical experiences and eventually careers.
