Cyber threats like phishing, identity theft, and malware are real and increasingly sophisticated. This page is your hub for staying informed, getting involved, and building habits that keep you safe.
The Phishing Derby is back for its second year, and there is a new competitive twist! In addition to the individual challenge, everyone will be divided into teams that are vying with each other for bragging rights*.
- The student teams have the following codenames: BLUEGOLD, FENWAY, HALO, LONGWOOD, MUDDYRIVER, and NOTREDAME.
- The staff and faculty teams have the following codenames: ORTIZ, PESKY, RICE, and YAZ.
Your individual performance will contribute to raffle entries for individual prizes, as well as your team score in this friendly competition. Each correctly reported simulated phishing email earns you 1 point, and each simulation failure** subtracts a point from your total.
Students are eligible for the following individual prizes in the raffle:
- $5 gift card to Dunkin' (5 available)
- $25 gift card to local restaurants (3 available)
- $50 gift card to the Emmanuel Bookstore (1 available)
Staff and faculty are eligible for the following individual prizes in the raffle:
- $25 gift card to local restaurants (2 available)
- 1 free month of on-campus parking or T pass based on your current election (2 available)

* Team performance will be assessed solely for informational purposes, and no prizes will be awarded on the basis of team performance.
**A "simulation failure" is defined as providing credentials to a simulated phishing payload or downloading an attachment in a simulated phishing payload. Individual scores will be calculated at the end of the month without respect to the order in which points are added or subtracted. (e.g. If over four simulations, you FAIL/DNP/PASS/PASS, your score will be 2 points per pass - 1 point per failure = 1 overall point.) Points are not awarded or subtracted if you do not report or fail a simulation.
