Welcome to the Emmanuel community!
As your student begins their journey in the Heart of Boston, this page offers resources, important information and helpful tools to support a successful transition and keep you connected along the way.
New Student Checklist Items
Over the course of the spring and summer, your student will be receiving information on required checklist items to complete prior to the start of the fall semester. The New Student Enrollment Portal will be the hub of information for most of the checklist items your student will need to complete. Below we've outlined important information and logistics for these checklist items, so that you can support your student as they prepare to join us in the fall.
We look forward to welcoming all students to our orientation programs. New Student Orientation is a student's intro to the Emmanuel community, where they'll learn about academic expectations, resources and opportunities, participate in academic advising and connect with their new classmates! Students can access registration through their New Student Enrollment Portal. Attendance at an orientation program is required for all incoming students. The deadline to register is May 25. See below for specific session information:
- Incoming First-Year Students: Sessions will be offered June 17-18, June 22-23, and June 25-26. Visit our new student programs page for more information. If you have questions or concerns you can contact orientation [at] emmanuel.edu (orientation[at]emmanuel[dot]edu)
- Incoming Transfer Students: Orientation for incoming transfer students will be offered on August 28. Visit our new student programs page for more information. If you have questions or concerns you can contact orientation [at] emmanuel.edu (orientation[at]emmanuel[dot]edu)
- Incoming International Students: The "New Beginnings" international student orientation program will be held August 24-27. For more information about the program contact internationalstudents [at] emmanuel.edu (internationalstudents[at]emmanuel[dot]edu).
All residential students must complete a housing application which includes the terms and conditions of living on campus as well as an opportunity to provide some information about living preferences. Students can access Emmanuel's housing platform and the required forms through their New Student Enrollment Portal. The housing application is due Monday, June 29.
All new students are required to complete an assessment exam in math in order for their Academic Advisor to create an accurate Fall 2026 course schedule. The math assessment is due by May 15.
The modern language assessment is for Spanish language proficiency and is used to determine placement for the student's Language + Culture (LC) General Requirement. The language assessment is due by August 5 for students required to complete it. Whether the assessment is required depends on a student's prior experience with Spanish:
- Students with previous academic experience in Spanish, through high school/college level coursework, are required to complete the Modern Language Assessment.
- Students who are heritage Spanish speakers (raised in a home where Spanish is spoken), should contact Idoia Martinez-del Mozo, the Modern Languages Department Chair, who will work with them to determine the appropriate placement for the Language + Culture (LC) General Requirement
- Students without modern language experience, or experience in a language other than Spanish, are not required to complete the assessment and will complete their Language + Culture (LC) General Requirement at the Beginning I Level.
Both the math and modern language assessments are accessed through the New Student Enrollment Portal.
The state of Massachusetts requires all full-time undergraduate and graduate students to submit proof of medical vaccinations. A list of required vaccinations can be found here: MA Gov Immunizations.
To make this process as simple and secure as possible, Emmanuel College uses CastleBranch, a HIPAA‑compliant compliance platform used by many colleges and universities. Through CastleBranch, students can upload their own vaccination records, track their compliance status, and securely access their records in the future for purposes such as employment, travel, or enrollment at another institution.
Students can access their CastleBranch account using the emails sent by the Admissions Office or by logging into their New Student Enrollment Portal.
If students have questions about accessing their account or uploading documentation, they should follow the instructions provided in the portal or reach out to CastleBranch support directly.
Additional information can be found on our Immunization and Student Requirements page.
Incoming first-year students are required to submit their official final high school transcript. Students should request that their school counselor send their transcript to the Office of Admissions. Incoming first-year students are also required to submit final college transcripts if they have completed any college level coursework.
Official final high school transcripts can be mailed or sent electronically via Naviance or emailed directly from your counselor.

Student Health Insurance
Massachusetts law requires that students be covered under a qualifying medical insurance plan. To ensure compliance with the state law, all undergraduate students are billed for the school’s plan until the waiver is received. The cost of the plan for the 2026-2027 academic year is $2,900.
The deadline to complete the waiver or enrollment form is August 5, 2026.
- To waive enrollment in the College’s plan, students must complete a health insurance waiver form demonstrating comparable coverage.
- To enroll in the College’s plan, students may complete a health insurance enrollment form.
Medicaid from outside of Massachusetts, Medi-Share, and international plans are not considered comparable insurance.
Information regarding the College’s plan is available via the University Health Plans website at www.universityhealthplans.com.
