Emmanuel College students have access to the Yawkey and Saint Joseph Hall fitness centers on campus. Both facilities feature state-of-the-art cardiovascular equipment which includes treadmills, elliptical trainers, arc trainers, and both recumbent and upright bicycles.
With over 25 pieces of cardio equipment, each piece is equipped with its own television monitor as well as iPod docks. The treadmills and bicycles also have the capability to store workouts on USB ports if so desired.
The Saint Joseph Fitness Center, which was completely updated in 2010, is outfitted with the following:
- Four lifting platforms and racks with bumper plates
- Dumbbells
- Kettlebells
- Functional Trainer
- Leg Press
- Other circuit pieces
This facility provides an ideal atmosphere for our student-athletes to train and ready themselves for athletic competition.
The Yawkey Fitness Center is outfitted with a complete line of selectorized circuit training equipment, as well as free weight equipment, including:
- Olympic Bench Press
- Incline Bench Press
- Dumbbells
- Squat Rack
- Smith Machine
- Functional Trainer
The Yawkey Center provides another option for our student-athletes to train, as well as a central location on campus for all students to workout.
St. Julie Hall's first floor includes:
- Fitness Center - The Fitness Center includes state-of-the-art equipment for cardiovascular and weight training
- Dance Studio - Ideal for dance, yoga and other fitness classes, the Dance Studio includes a changing room, mirrored wall and rubber floor
Emmanuel Students also have access to the Simmons University William J. Holmes Sports & Fitness Center for swimming, aerobics and other fitness activities. Bring your Emmanuel College ID to the Yawkey Center front desk in order to obtain a Simmons pass.
Emmanuel College's central location means students are close to bike trails, the YMCA, numerous parks and other hot spots for recreational and leisurely activities.
