Emmanuel College women’s athletic teams were recently awarded the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Commissioner’s Cup for the 2018-19 academic year.
Announced by GNAC Commissioner Joe Walsh, the GNAC Commissioner's Cup recognizes an institution achieving the highest level of athletic success throughout the academic year. The award is based on a points system that considers an institution's GNAC Championship wins, advancement to a conference title game, competition in a GNAC Semifinal, qualification for a GNAC Tournament, and sponsorship of the sport in either men's or women's athletics.
This year, the Saints won GNAC titles in both women's basketball and women's cross country, finished second at the outdoor track & field championship and advanced to the semifinals of the women's soccer and softball tournaments.
Emmanuel has won the women's cup four times overall since the 2008-09 season, most recently during 2015-16.
