Rounding out a successful 23-5 (10-1 GNAC) season, Emmanuel College women’s basketball won the 2019 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Championship with a 65-64 victory over Saint Joseph’s College (ME) on Saturday, February 23rd.

Junior guard Yuleska Ramirez-Tejeda scored the game high 24 points and marked her 1,000th career point, becoming the 24th player in Emmanuel's history to do so. Ramirez-Tejeda was named a U.S. Basketball Writers Association Division III National Player of the Week for the week ending February 24th, marking the second time this season that she has earned this honor. For the season, Ramirez-Tejeda has scored 589 points and fielded 311 rebounds, setting two Emmanuel single-season records.

With this victory, Emmanuel women's basketball advances to the 2019 NCAA Division III Women's Basketball tournament for the first time in five seasons, marking the 16th GNAC Championship in the program's history. Going into the first round of the tournament, the Saints face off against Hartwick College on Friday, March 1st at SUNY New Paltz.
