Emmanuel offers 80+ majors, minors, and areas of study across five schools — Business & Management, Education, Humanities & Social Sciences, the Maureen Murphy Wilkens School of Nursing & Clinical Sciences, and Science & Health.
That's completely normal — Nursing is the only major with direct admission; everyone else can begin undeclared or exploring. You get a professional academic advisor from day one to help map out general-education courses that count no matter what path you take, and you formally declare a major by March 1 of your sophomore year.
Yes. Students can declare up to three academic programs total — no more than two majors — and can pursue a double major (full requirements in two departments, one degree awarded) or a minor (typically 20–24 credits, at least 12 completed at Emmanuel). Two majors within the same department are allowed; two concentrations within the same department are not. Read more of our academic policies.
Emmanuel's liberal arts foundation is built to develop the whole person, not just prepare you for a first job. 90% of Class of 2026 graduates said their Emmanuel experience broadened and deepened their knowledge and sharpened their intellectual skills, and 92% said it helped them deepen their personal, social, ethical, and civic responsibility.
