At Emmanuel College we are committed to empowering students, to help you meet your goals.
The first step in that process is helping our new students transition successfully into college life. As part of that effort, we survey our new students every fall. Not only do we want to understand and celebrate what is going well, but we want to know what concerns and questions our new students have so we can connect you to the right people and resources to make your Emmanuel experience the best it can be!
We thank the 205 new students who recently completed the 2025 Connection Survey and invite everyone to review the survey results and highlighted resources below.
When reflecting on their first month at Emmanuel, survey respondents reported the following:
95% were having a great experience at Emmanuel
90% had made friends
89% were comfortable seeking out assistance on campus
87% were feeling a sense of belonging
However, we know that the transition to college isn’t always smooth and survey respondents also reported some challenges and questions.
The following were the most common issues raised, along with resources that students can utilize to support them in these areas:
33% of survey respondents said that they have financial concerns.
Suggestion: Contact the Office of Student Financial Services to discuss your concerns and learn about payment options.
29% of survey respondents said they have encountered challenges in their classes.
Suggestion: Contact the Academic Resource Center for tutoring, academic coaching, writing help, and other academic supports.
15% of survey respondents said they have mental, physical or personal concerns.
Suggestion: Contact the Counseling and Wellness Center for counseling, crisis intervention, and other supports.
Many respondents also expressed interest in hearing more about campus clubs and events.
Suggestion: Visit the Engage portal on the Student Involvement page of the Emmanuel website.
