The summer 2026 housing application will be available in the housing portal in April, and an email will be sent when the application is live. In the meantime, below you will find information about living on campus during the summer.

Summer Housing Dates:

  • June 1, 2026 - August 12, 2026

  • Transition (Temporary) Housing: Housing will be made available for students starting employment or academic programs before June 1st.

    • Students who have approval to work or participate in an academic program between the end of the spring semester and the start of summer housing are responsible for communicating this information in their summer housing application. If approval is gained after submission of the application, an email can be sent to reslife2 [at] emmanuel.edu (reslife2[at]emmanuel[dot]edu) no later than May 1, 2026.

    • Transition (temporary) housing will be made available immediately following the end of the spring semester in St. Ann Hall.  Transition housing is not available in St. Julie Hall.

    • Transition housing rooms will not be professionally cleaned before move-in. These rooms will have been recently vacated by academic year residents.  While Residence Life staff will do their best to identify the cleanest rooms possible for transition housing, these spaces will only be in broom swept condition and students should be prepared to do the cleaning themselves.

    • There is no cost for transition housing.

    • All students in transition housing will be required to move to summer housing spaces on approximately June 1, 2026.

      • Due to preparations for summer conference needs, St. Ann Hall must be vacant by the end of the day on June 1st.  Late moves will not be permitted.

Summer Housing Eligibility

  • Students must be employed on-campus, participating in a program related to academics (such as a research position), or working at an internship for at least 30 hours per week. Off campus employment is not a qualifier for summer housing

  • You will be required to upload your proof of hire from your employer including hours/week into your summer housing application so that we can verify your eligibility

  • Students residing on campus during the spring semester are expected to depart campus with their belongings in May and move back in on or after June 1st.

Summer Housing Cost

  • $30.00 per night between June 1, 2026 - August 12, 2026.

    • Free or discounted housing is only offered to some summer residents and should be verified through your on-campus employer or program director.

Summer Housing Location

  • Loretto Hall (subject to change to a different traditional style residence hall).

  • Housing is not available in St. Julie Hall for Emmanuel College students.

Roommates

  • Roommate matching will be available in the housing portal and all requests must be mutual. While we will do our best to match roommate requests together, we are unable to guarantee requests.

Parking

  • Parking is generally not offered to summer students. Parking is limited so that we can provide space for large-scale summer programming such as Summer Camps, Conferences, Alumni Weekend and Orientation.  For questions about parking, email studentparking [at] emmanuel.edu (studentparking[at]emmanuel[dot]edu).

Dining

  • Dining plans are not offered over the summer and campus dining is extremely limited.  All summer residents are responsible for their own meals.

Housing Accommodations:

  • Due to the amenities available in our traditional style residence halls, we may not always be able to completely meet a student’s academic year accommodations during the summer.  Please consider your housing needs when deciding if summer housing at Emmanuel is the right decision for you.

    • The traditional residence halls do not support air-conditioning. Temperatures can get very warm in the summer, and air-conditioned housing will not be offered.

    • The traditional residence halls do not offer private kitchens or bathrooms.  There are communal kitchens and bathrooms to be shared amongst all residents.

    • The traditional halls do not contain single occupancy rooms.  We may be limited in accommodating single requests due to space availability

Additional Policies

  • The Emmanuel College residence halls are dry for the summer.  Alcohol is not permitted regardless of age.
