I’m a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in treating adults experiencing anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress.  I love sharing my excitement for psychology with Emmanuel students, and I aim to bring the psychology classroom to life by using real-world case studies and authentic assignments. Prior to joining Emmanuel, I conducted research and clinical work in settings such as the Boston Veterans Affairs Healthcare System, the Center for Anxiety and Related Disorders at Boston University, and the Institute of Living in Hartford, CT.

What I love About Emmanuel:
The community! I'm excited to be working with such curious, engaged students and love how the small size of Emmanuel allows me to get to know and work with them closely throughout their college careers.

I have two primary lines of research.  First, I study posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), focusing primarily on understanding the longitudinal course and treatment of PTSD and improving knowledge of the healthcare-related needs and outcomes of veterans with PTSD. I have also conducted studies that answer critical methodological questions or developed tools that advance high-quality PTSD research. My second area of research focuses on cognitive processes that play a role in mental health.  More specifically, my student research assistants and I have been investigating how a judgmental or self-critical attitude toward one’s internal experiences influences  emotional reactions and emotion regulation strategy selection. In both lines of my research, I ultimately aim to contribute to intervention strategies that effectively meet the needs of individuals living with PTSD, mood, and anxiety-related disorders.
