The Emmanuel College Women's Indoor Track & Field team won the inaugural Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Indoor Track & Field Championship February 16th at Boston University.

The GNAC victory marks the first championship win of the academic year in the College’s athletics program. The Saints won six individual events and two relay events during the GNAC Championship to earn a team score of 174 on the afternoon, finishing 60 points ahead of Suffolk University who finished in second place with 114 points.

Among the highlights of the day for the Saints were three first place finishes by Amanda Jordan ’21. Jordan, Lauren Sterling ’22, and Jackie Schnieder ’20 had the top three finishing times in the 60m hurdle, sweeping the event. Nicole Ruggiero ’22, Deanna Ruggiero ’22, and Molly Winship ’23 came within two seconds of the College’s record in the distance medley relay to win the event.

The team will compete at the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III New England Championship on February 28th at Middlebury College. Read more about the team’s GNAC victory and follow along with the rest of their season here.
