Associate Professor of Mathematics Benjamin Allen was published in the academic journal Nature Communications on November 8th.
Dr. Allen's article on the effects of population structure on the outcome of natural selection is a follow up to a previously published Nature article regarding evolutionary games on graphs. The latest article focuses on a particular class of graphs that allow for deeper mathematical results.

Dr. Allen's research centers around the use of mathematical modeling to help illuminate the organisms, patterns and behaviors that emerge from evolution. He is interested in both theoretical and practical questions within this topic. His work studies the effects of the spatial or social structure of a population on its evolution and the genetic evolution of cancer as tumors grow and develop in order to better understand how they build resistance to targeted cancer therapies
