A Message from President Sr. Janet Eisner, SNDdeN on Hurricane Eta's devastating impact on Central America and its residents.

Dear Members of the Emmanuel College Community,

In recent days, Central America has experienced historic devastation as a result of Hurricane Eta. A Category 4 hurricane when it made landfall last Tuesday, Eta dropped record amounts of rainfall, triggering widespread flooding, mudslides, power outages and the destruction of vital infrastructure.

Our hearts go out to all affected by this humanitarian catastrophe, including members of the Emmanuel community who call the region home and whose family and friends may be experiencing suffering at this hour.

I encourage our community to stand in solidarity with the victims of Hurricane Eta as they struggle to recover, a task made more challenging in this time of COVID. Ways to assist include making a donation to a relief organization or fund and raising awareness of the disaster among friends and contacts.

The prayers of the Emmanuel community are with the people of Central America in this time of special need.

Sister Janet Eisner, SNDdeN
