Emmanuel College’s School of Business & Management has been approved as an Educational Member of the International Accreditation Council for Business Education (IACBE), an organization that offers institutions a mission-driven and outcomes-based accreditation process for business and management education.

“That makes it a perfect fit for what we’re doing at Emmanuel,” said Dean of the School of Business & Management, Anne Marie Pasquale, J.D.

She said she’s pleased for Emmanuel to be a member and to have received that “stamp of approval,” from the IACBE, which tells the College and the School of Business & Management that its business programs are well designed to work towards achieving the College’s mission.

It is also a testament to the quality of the graduates’ outcomes, Pasquale said, who leave the business school with the skillset that employers and graduate schools are looking for.

An Educational Member of the IACBE is an academic business unit that has met the IACBE’s requirements for membership and has affirmed its commitment to excellence in business education.”

As an Educational Member, Emmanuel College now has access to the IACBE’s quality assurance process, which evaluates a College’s business programs and can lead to accreditation of those programs after 1-2 years.

Achieving the accreditation would be a big step for the College, Pasquale said, and especially “important for incoming students to know.” She said Emmanuel is pursuing specialized accreditation for all of its business programs.

Being accepted as an Educational Member points to the commitment of Emmanuel’s School of Business & Management faculty for their work to continuously improve the school and its program offerings. It will also open up additional opportunities for business faculty, as Educational Members of the IACBE gain access to a variety of professional development opportunities, including its upcoming New England conference in the fall.
