Emmanuel College alumna Margaret (Peg) Campbell, RN, BSN ’01, was recently honored with the 2022 Extraordinary Healer® award for oncology nursing.
Hosted annually by CURE®, a leading multimedia platform providing cancer updates, research and education, the award program receives hundreds of nominations from colleagues, patients, friends and family of outstanding oncology nurses from around the world.
Campbell received the award last month at a ceremony in conjunction with the 47th Annual ONS Congress in Anaheim, California. Patrick Dempsey, award-winning actor, producer, cancer advocate and founder of the Dempsey Center, served as the event's keynote speaker. Campbell is currently a research nurse at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
“Margaret's dedication to her patients as she helps them navigate clinical trials and gain access to new therapies is a vital part of their overall healing journey," said Mike Hennessy Jr., president and CEO of MJH Life Sciences™, parent company of CURE Media Group. "As we mark our 20th anniversary, CURE Media Group is honored to celebrate remarkable oncology nurses who, like Margaret, go above and beyond every day, especially with the added pressures of a global pandemic."
