The Parent Leadership Council is a new community of Emmanuel College families who partner with campus leadership to enrich the student experience and strengthen the College’s momentum.
By sharing insights, offering feedback, and elevating programs, PLC members help shape a vibrant and thriving academic community in the heart of Boston. This new council ensures parents have a meaningful voice in shaping Emmanuel’s future.
Member Roles & Expectations
PLC members contribute in practical, high‑impact ways throughout the year, with flexible involvement based on personal interests and availability. PLC participation is intentionally flexible. Members choose the areas where their expertise and interests align, contributing at a pace that fits their schedules.
Common avenues for engagement include:
Supporting outreach efforts that welcome and inform prospective families - building awareness of Emmanuel’s value, community, and distinctive student experience.
Sharing internship or job leads at your organization, or opening doors through your professional network.
Helping plan or host key campus and regional events and offering constructive feedback that helps us continually improve the parent and family experience.
Encouraging giving around meaningful moments (e.g., Family Weekend, Commencement) and helping to connect Emmanuel with potential corporate or foundation partners.

Leadership Engagement & Member Benefits
In appreciation for their leadership and involvement, PLC members are invited to join conversations with senior College leadership to help shape the direction and priorities of the PLC. Members may also receive early invitations to key campus events, insights into emerging initiatives, and opportunities to influence programs that directly support students and families.
Together, PLC members play an essential role in amplifying the parent voice, strengthening community life, and advancing the College’s strategic priorities.
