Donna Marchand
Assistant Professor of Accounting

I spent the first phase of my career in K-12 education where I assisted in launching a fully inclusive education program that became a statewide model in New York. I designed, organized, and presented workshops on inclusive education, facilitative communication, and collaborative learning for faculty, educational support teams, and parents.
I spent the second phase of my career in public accounting where I participated in client field work, and compiled, reviewed, and audited financial statements for partnerships, S corporations, C corporations, and not-for-profit clients. In addition to financial statement preparation, I also provided tax return preparation and tax liability analysis and planning for corporate and individual clients, as well as tax return preparation for trusts and not-for-profit organizations.
The third phase of my career combines my long-standing passion for equity-minded education with my vested interest in the financial story of business enterprises. I was previously Director of the Accounting and Finance Lab at Bridgewater State University and have taught accounting and business courses as a full-time instructor at Bridgewater State University and Wheaton College. I currently enjoy teaching accounting at Emmanuel where we have developed a curriculum steeped in data analytics and melded with a robust liberal arts and sciences education shaped by strong ethical values.
