Carol Femia
BSN - Chair

Dr. Carol Femia is currently an Associate Professor of Nursing Practice at Emmanuel College with the responsibility to chair the Baccalaureate Program.
Carol remains clinically active both as a maternal child health nurse and as a lactation consultant. Carol has also worked in the fields of Oncology, Medical Surgical Nursing, and Maternal Child Health. Currently Carol is in her fifth year serving as the treasurer for the Massachusetts/Rhode Island League of nursing. She has served on many simulation councils and committees and is certified as a health simulation expert (CHSE). Her passion is the promotion of active learning in students.
Her research interests are in infant feeding practices in different cultures and barriers to breastfeeding. Additionally, her interests include the use of simulation to promote critical thinking in students.
What I Love About Emmanuel:
I love the smallness of Emmanuel in the heart of some of the most prestigious medical institutions in the world. Our proximity and partnerships give students access to these institutions, many within walking distance. I also love that we can know the whole student and tailor our education accordingly.
