Provider Programs (Semester)

Provider Programs (Summer)
Students will select their program from our pre-selected list and would pay the program provider directly.
The program fees for semester and summer study abroad programs typically include tuition, housing and student insurance. They may also have an option to purchase a flight package, meals, and excursions. Be sure to pay attention to the inclusions, as well as the length of the program, while weighing program options.
Features Scholarships
Sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, the Gilman program works to broaden the student population that studies abroad by supporting undergraduate students who might not otherwise be able to study abroad. Students who receive the Gilman have traditionally been underrepresented in study abroad, including but not limited to:
- Students with high financial need
- Students studying in non-traditional countries, especially those outside Western Europe, Australia, and New Zealand
- Students with diverse ethnic backgrounds
- Students with disabilities
To be eligible for the Gilman scholarship, students must meet the following requirements:
- Must be receiving the Federal Pell Grant during the time of application or provide proof that they will be receiving a Pell Grant during the term of their study abroad program.
- In the process of applying to, or accepted to, a study abroad or internship program of at least three weeks in a single country or area and eligible for credit from the student’s home institution.
- Applying for a credit-bearing study abroad program in a country or area with an overall Travel Advisory Level 1 or 2 according to the U.S. Department of State Travel Advisory System.
Boren scholarships provide up to $20,000 to U.S. undergraduate students to study abroad in areas of the world that are critical to U.S. interests and underrepresented in study abroad, including Africa, Asia, Central & Eastern Europe, Eurasia, Latin America and the Middle East.
Boren scholars study less commonly taught languages, including but not limited to, Arabic, Chinese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian and Swahili. Boren scholarships are funded by the National Security Education Program (NSEP), which focuses on geographic areas, languages and fields of study which are critical to U.S. national security. The Boren Scholarship maintains a service requirement, which states that students must commit to working for the federal government after graduation.
To be eligible for the Boren Scholarship, students must meet the following requirements:
- A U.S. citizen at the time of graduation
- Matriculated in an undergraduate degree program located within the United States.
- Applying to a study abroad program that meets home institution standards in
General Scholarships
Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents currently enrolled in U.S. universities/colleges who plan to study abroad for at least our weeks. Fund for Education Abroad awards are intended to support students planning to participate in high-quality, rigorous education abroad programs.
Rainbow Scholarship
This scholarship will be awarded to a deserving LGBTQI student who aims to participate in a high-quality, rigorous education abroad program.
BASAA Scholarship
This scholarship will be awarded to a deserving student who attends a U.S. university of college located in the BASAA area (Massachusetts, Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, or Connecticut).
The Diversity Abroad Network will offer summer scholarships in the amount of $1,000 for full-time undergraduate students attending a member institution.
Applicants must be full-time undergraduates at a university or community college based in Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom or the United States. Economically disadvantaged students, African-American/Black, Asian, Hispanic/Latino, Multiracial/ethnic or Indigenous/Native-American, students with disabilities and first generation college undergraduate students are strongly encouraged to apply.
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Attend a Diversity Network member institution
- Have a minimum cumulative 2.75 GPA or the equivalent
- Be willing to share their experiences abroad with the DiversityAbroad.com community via articles, student stories, and country guide submissions and participate in the DiversityAbroad.com community
