Adam Silver is Associate Professor of Political Science at Emmanuel College. He specializes in American political institutions, political parties and organizations, campaign strategies, and electoral politics, social movements, and state and local politics. He has served as a policy analyst and legislative director in the New York State Senate. He received his M.A. in History from SUNY Albany and Ph.D. in Political Science from Boston University in 2010.

Adam is currently working on a book manuscript on political party development and electoral strategy using the platforms of the parties in nineteenth-century America.    

Research interests include political party platforms and party development in American political history; New York State politics; and the intersection of social movements and music.
