Scholarships Based on Student Affiliation

If you are employed by or affiliated with one of the College's partner organizations, you may qualify for a partial tuition scholarship.

To receive a tuition scholarship, students submit documentation of their organization affiliation to the Office of Student Financial Services. For employer-based scholarships, a letter from the employer's human resource office stating that the student is a current employee of the organization is required. For continued eligibility, students are to submit documentation of employment annually. 

Emmanuel College Endowed and Restricted Scholarships

Emmanuel College Endowed and Restricted Scholarships are funded through the generosity of alumni and friends of the College.

• The Katherine McNeil Scholarship provides financial assistance to students completing undergraduate degrees in the RN to BSN program who have demonstrated financial need and are not receiving tuition assistance from an employer.
• The Sister Clare Francis, SND Scholarship provides financial assistance to nursing students employed by the Archdiocese of Boston and its affiliate organizations. 
• The Nola Della-Monica Scholarship provides financial assistance to nursing students based upon outstanding merit.

Graduate Student Financial Aid

Federal Direct Unsubsidized Loan

Eligible graduate students may receive a Federal Direct Unsubsidized Loan of up to $20,500 per academic year, but this amount cannot exceed their cost of attendance minus any other financial aid. This loan carries a fixed interest rate. Borrowers may choose to defer the interest payments while in school and during their six-month grace period, but the interest will be capitalized.

Graduate PLUS Loan

An additional federal loan for graduate students who are ineligible for the Federal Direct Unsubsidized Loan, or who have a remaining balance after their financial award. This loan is available to graduate students without an adverse credit history (the absence of any credit history is not viewed as adverse credit). This loan carries a fixed interest rate. Borrowers may choose to defer the interest payments while in school and during their six-month grace period, but the interest will be capitalized. Please contact the Office of Student Financial Services for more information on applying for this loan.

Federal TEACH Grant

The Federal Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education (TEACH) Grant is gift aid awarded to students in exchange for an agreement to serve as a teacher in a high-need field in a public or private elementary or secondary school that serves low-income students. Federal Direct Loans

Direct Subsidized Loan

Undergraduate students who demonstrate financial need are eligible for the Federal Direct Subsidized Loan. The loan carries a fixed interest rate, which the federal government pays while the student borrower is enrolled at least half time. Loan amounts are included on the table below.

Direct Unsubsidized Loan

Undergraduate students who do not demonstrate financial need are eligible for the Federal Direct Unsubsidized Loan. This loan carries a fixed interest rate. Borrowers may choose to defer the interest payments while in school and during their six-month grace period, but the interest will be capitalized.

Federal Pell Grant

Gift aid from the federal government to undergraduate students with significant financial need.

MA State Grant

Gift aid from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to full-time undergraduate students with significant financial need who are also Massachusetts residents. Awards are estimated until the College receives notification from the state's scholarship office.

Serving Those Who Have Served 

Emmanuel College proudly welcomes those who have served our country. We participate in the Post-9/11 GI Bill® and the Yellow Ribbon Program to help make affording an online college education easier for U.S. military veterans. 

Post-9/11 GI Bill®  

The Post-9/11 GI Bill® gives U.S. military veterans up to 36 months of education benefits. To be eligible, you—or a parent, if they have transferred their benefits to you—must have served at least 90 days of active duty after September 10, 2001. If you are eligible for the program, Emmanuel College will receive tuition payments from the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) for each semester in which you are enrolled. The amount of this payment depends on the length of aggregate active duty service and the VA’s maximum tuition benefit amount.

*VA maximum tuition benefit for the 2022–2023 academic year. This amount changes annually.

Yellow Ribbon Program

If your tuition costs exceed the VA’s maximum tuition benefit amount for the academic year, then the Yellow Ribbon Program can make your online education more affordable. Part of the Post-9/11 GI Bill®, the Yellow Ribbon Program is available to eligible U.S. military veterans and their dependents. If you have 100% Chapter 33 eligibility for the academic year, your tuition costs for the fall and spring semesters will be covered in full under this program. Funding for this benefit comes from both the VA and Emmanuel College.
