High school students may be able to accelerate their academic program at Emmanuel College through Advanced Placement (AP), International Baccalaureate (IB) and college credit from other post-secondary institutions.

Advanced Placement (AP) Exam
AP scores will be evaluated by academic departments and typically offer college credit equivalent for one full course at Emmanuel, with a passing score and the respective AP course is transcripted on the official high school transcript or completed prior to matriculation at Emmanuel. If you receive credit for an AP examination, you will be placed at an advanced level in the appropriate academic department. Generally scores of 4 or 5 are accepted in exchange for credit at Emmanuel.  There is no limit on the number of credits accepted for transfer via Advanced Placement. Cambridge International Examinations (CIE)/Advanced Level (A-level) Exams
Advanced Level (A-Level) examinations will be accepted for 8 credits per exam with grades of C or better on an official transcript submitted directly from the examination board administering the exam to Emmanuel College (ex. Cambridge International Examinations or Pearson). Equivalencies are typically awarded at the introductory level. Advanced Subsidiary Level Exams (AS) and Ordinary Level exams (O-Level) are not accepted for credit.

International Baccalaureate (IB) Exam
Grades of four, five, six or seven on the IB higher-level examinations entitle you to credit for at least one course. Each academic department at Emmanuel will determine the specific amount of credit to be awarded. Review the International Baccalaureate (IB) Exam Approved Course and Credit Equivalencies document to see how these exams will transfer to Emmanuel.

Dual Enrollment/College Level Classes
College level coursework completed prior to matriculation as a freshman either through dual enrollment programs or credit completed without a high school association may be considered for transfer credit if the content of the coursework is within the parameters for transfer credit accepted at Emmanuel College and a grade of B (3.0) or better is earned.  A maximum of 32 credits (8 courses) may be awarded for eligible coursework. All coursework must be submitted on an official transcript from the post-secondary institution awarding the credit. College credit will be evaluated for incoming freshmen after students have formally deposited and declared their intention to matriculate at Emmanuel College.
