Days of Service

Emmanuel students have the opportunity to serve the community in a variety of ways, such as participating in large-scale days of service.

New Student Day of Service

Student Service - Volunteering

As part of their Welcome Week activities, all incoming Emmanuel students learn about service opportunities in Boston by serving at various Boston non-profit agencies on New Student Day of Service. Sites include The Greater Boston Food Bank, Daily Table, Cradles to Crayons, St. Ambrose Family Shelter, Nazareth Residence, St. Mary of the Angel Parish, Franklin Park Zoo and OLPH Mission Grammar School.

MLK Jr. Day of Service and Reflection

In honor of Martin Luther King, Jr., student clubs and organizations, as well as alumni, are invited to participate in a Day of Service and Reflection shortly after returning to campus for the spring semester. The day begins with a presentation, prayer, and reflection on the important work and life of the late Dr. King, proceeded by a morning of service with a variety of community partners throughout the city.

Annual Spring Day of Service

Volunteering - Community Service

Spring Day of Service is an annual program sponsored by various areas of the College including: Athletics, Campus Ministry, Residence Life, Student Activities and Multicultural Programs, Student Government Association, and the Jean Yawkey Center for Community Leadership. Groups of students come together one Saturday in April and provide service to our community service partners throughout the City of Boston.
