Master’s Degree and Graduate Certifcate in Nursing Programs

  1. Completed Application Form

    Candidates are encouraged to complete the application online.

  2. Official Transcripts

    Official transcripts from all regionally accredited academic institutions attended are required. Transcripts must show the completion of a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution.

    • For Master of Science in Nursing applicants, transcripts must show the completion of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) or Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) accredited institution.

    • A cumulative undergraduate GPA of 2.5 or above is generally expected for acceptance to the graduate management and graduate education programs. A GPA of 3.0 or above is generally expected for acceptance to the graduate nursing program.

  3. Two Completed Recommendation Forms
    Recommendations should be requested from professional supervisors or educators, with one from a current supervisor or educator. Recommenders should provide specific information about the candidate's abilities and potential to succeed in the program.

  4. Admissions Essay

    Candidates must submit a 500-word (minimum) essay addressing the following: 

    • Identification of educational goals and expectations in seeking the graduate degree or certificate of choice.

    • An example of how prior experiences will be utilized to make a special contribution to this graduate program and the learning of others.

    • The description of a challenging professional situation in which options were critically analyzed, a decision was reached and leadership was utilized to initiate change.

    • Description of professional work experience including any special certifications.

    The candidate's name should appear on all pages of the essay.

  5. Current Résumé

    Candidates must submit a one-page (minimum) résumé summarizing all professional work experience and previous education.

  6. Nursing License (for Master of Science in Nursing + Certificates of Graduate Study in Nursing Applicants ONLY)

    Candidates must provide proof of current Massachusetts RN License from www.mass.gov/dph/boards/rn or eligibility to apply for reciprocity based on other U.S. State licensure.

  7. International student applicants only:

    Emmanuel requires supplemental materials for all international students including U.S. students living abroad.

Graduate Certificate Programs

  1. Completed Application Form

    Candidates are encouraged to complete the application online.

  2. Official Transcripts

    Official transcripts from all regionally accredited academic institutions attended are required. Transcripts must show the completion of a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution.

  3. Current Résumé

    Candidates must submit a one-page (minimum) résumé summarizing all professional work experience and previous education.

RN-to-BSN Program

Please note: the following admission requirements are for graduates of an accredited Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma program.  Please contact the Office of Graduate and Professional programs if you are interested in the RN-to-BSN program, but are not a graduate of an accredited Associate Degree in Nuring or Nursing Diploma program.

  1. Completed Admission Application 

    Candidates are encouraged to complete the application  online.

  2. Official Transcripts

    Candidates must submit the official transcripts from all regionally accredited academic institutions attended and, if applicable, an official copy of standardized test scores and/or military credit (DD-214). American Council on Education approved materials (or equivalent, which will be verified by the appropriate agency) will be reviewed for transfer credit as appropriate.

  3. Current Résumé

    Candidates must submit a one-page (minimum) résumé summarizing all professional work experience and previous education.

  4. Nursing License

    Candidates must provide proof of current Massachusetts RN License from  www.mass.gov/dph/boards/rn or eligibility to apply for reciprocity based on other U.S. State licensure. To help facilitate furthering your education,  as a result of a possible delay in taking your NCLEX-RN exam, we will conditionally accept students in the RN-BSN program without the RN License.

  5. International student applicants only:

Emmanuel College Alumni

  1. Completed Application Form

    Candidates are encouraged to complete the application online.

  2. Official Transcripts

    Official transcripts from all regionally accredited academic institutions attended are required. Transcripts must show the completion of a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution. If consent is given on the application, the Office of Graduate and Professional Programs will obtain an official copy of the applicant's Emmanuel College undergraduate transcript.

  3. Current Résumé

    Candidates must submit a one-page (minimum) résumé summarizing all professional work experience and previous education.

Preferred Deadlines 2021 - 2022

Submitting all required admission materials by any of the following dates ensures that an applicant's file will be reviewed in time for the corresponding academic session.

• Spring 1, 2022 - December 14th
• Spring 2, 2022 - February 22nd
• Summer 1, 2022 - April 26th
• Summer 2, 2022 - June 28th
• Fall 1, 2022 - August 23rd
