We thank our entire community for continued vigilance as we work together to minimize the impact of COVID-19 on campus. Our rates continue to be very low, as shared daily on our public testing dashboard.
As the weather improves and we move into holidays, including St. Patrick’s Day next week and Patriots’ Day and Easter weekends in April, it is critically important that we sustain our commitment to behaviors that keep our community safe. We know that social gatherings that do not adhere to guidelines present the highest risk; any unsanctioned events, either on campus or in off-campus apartments, will be taken very seriously both by the College and by officials in the City of Boston.
During the week of March 15th, students and families will receive information on the process for 2021-2022 housing selection. The initial step for returning students will be to formally indicate an interest in living on campus during the next academic year and to submit a housing deposit. The Office of Residence Life & Housing will send a detailed email that will include FAQs on the process.
On March 22nd, Summer and Fall 2021 courses will be posted on Student Planning via EC Online Services. Priority web registration will begin on April 12th and close on April 25th. An email with details on registration, including web registration time slots, will be sent from the Office of the Registrar on Friday, March 19th.
As announced on Monday, March 8th, the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) will sponsor limited spring competition for men’s and women’s lacrosse and softball. The conference will not sponsor outdoor track & field, and golf championships are still pending. The Department of Athletics has communicated with coaches and student-athletes about spring schedules and safety protocols for conference play. Additional information will be made available soon on www.goecsaints.com.
In addition to offering telehealth appointments, the Department of Health Services, housed in the new Wellness Center on the second floor of Marian Hall, is open for in-person routine health exams, preventative screenings, bloodwork and more. Information on all services is available at this link. Appointments are open Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and can be made by calling (617) 264-7678.
Upcoming updates will provide information on plans for on-campus events in light of the latest guidance from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and in anticipation of the launch of phase four of the state’s reopening plan on March 22nd. These updates will include plans for senior traditions and Commencement.
