Commencement Update: A Message from President Sr. Janet Eisner, SNDdeN to the Class of 2021

Dear Members of the Class of 2021,

We are so grateful for the leadership you have shown amid the challenges of the global pandemic. Your continued versatility and determination will serve you well in your careers and throughout your lives.

Many of you have expressed your desire for an in-person Commencement ceremony as a fitting and memorable celebration of your Emmanuel experience. Today, I am pleased to announce that your Commencement will indeed take place in person on the Emmanuel campus on Saturday, May 22nd.

Due to ongoing city and state guidelines for physical distancing, and constraints on the size of our venue, the ceremony will be limited to you, the graduates. Families and friends will be able to watch the proceedings remotely via live telecast. While this approach is different, it will allow us to contain our numbers and keep the event safe for you and for all members of our community.

In keeping with tradition, the ceremony will include the familiar elements of cap & gown, the formal conferral of degrees, the reading of the graduates’ names and the opportunity to walk individually across the Commencement platform.

We will provide additional details on your Commencement and related programming in the weeks to come. For now, I wish you every success as you enter these final two months of your time at Emmanuel. We look forward to recognizing you in May as you begin new chapters in your lives.

Sister Janet Eisner, SNDdeN
