“My internship at Tufts Medical Center has given me the chance to see how things work in the real world, and that’s going to help as I build a career in healthcare. My hands-on hospital internship combined with my biology classes at Emmanuel, have put me in a good position to achieve my goal of becoming a physician assistant.”

As an intern working as a Clinical Care Technician/Unit Coordinator at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, Marwah was on the front lines at a busy, urban hospital. Assisting doctors, nurses and patients in the perioperative unit, Marwah learned how to work as part of a team, how to communicate with people from all walks of life and how to quickly and effectively solve problems. She says that her Emmanuel classwork as a biology major helped her on the job, and her membership in Emmanuel’s Biology Club and MEDLIFE broadened her understanding of science and medicine.
