Crime Prevention + Safety

Crime Prevention + Safety

The men and women of the Emmanuel College Campus Safety Department are dedicated to maintaining a safe and secure campus for all students, staff, faculty and visitors. Still, to have a safe and secure environment, collaboration is needed by all. Only by working together can Emmanuel be successful in minimizing incidents of crime on our campus.

An Individual's Role in Preventing Crime
Community members need to actively assist in maintaining a safe and secure campus for all students, faculty and staff. We need individuals to serve as our eyes and ears and identify behavior and activities that are out of the ordinary in residence halls and the workplace.  To do this, everyone should adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Voice concerns about crime and disorder problems
  • Do not wait until crimes occur or problems get out of control; raise concerns with the Campus Safety Department
  • Report and provide information about crimes and suspicious activities

A quick and effective response by Campus Safety Officers is greatly assisted by accurate and timely reports of emergency or suspicious incidents. Crime prevention includes contacting the Campus Safety Office when an individual observes suspicious activity is the victim of or becomes aware of a public criminal incident, or observes a potential public safety issue. If the Department of Campus Safety is not made aware of an incident, it cannot provide assistance to those in need or work to prevent it from occurring again.
