Record-setting Day at ECAC Championships for Bruno ’14 and Saints

The Emmanuel College men's and women's indoor track teams posted several incredible performances at the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Indoor Track + Field Championships on March 1st and 2nd at The Armory in New York City.  Overall, the Saints collected ten All-ECAC honors and set five new Emmanuel records at the Championships.

Junior Nathan Bruno (Lenox, Mass.) couldn't have been better on Saturday morning, as he tore up the track in the men's 500 meters. Bruno's time of 1:03.77 earned him 1st place in the event and he crossed the line more than two seconds ahead of his nearest competitor, a Hamilton College sophomore, who finished in 1:05.80.  Bruno's All-ECAC performance broke his own Emmanuel program record.  He finished 2nd in this event at the ECACs in 2012 with a time of 1:04.75.  He is just the second Emmanuel student-athlete to win an ECAC Championship. Emmanuel's Chris Conway won the ECAC 55m hurdles championship back in 2009. Bruno's flawless ECAC 500m performance will conclude the indoor season, as NCAA does not run a 500m race at nationals.
