Students Mark DeCristoforo, Clara Ren, Colin Shea and David Somerville worked with Assistant Professor of Economics Rebecca Moryl, Ph.D. to create a poster entitled "Assessing effectiveness: Strategies for achieving local economic development goals" for an Association for Public Policy Analysis & Management conference.
For four straight weeks in spring 2013, two teams of seniors in the Strategic Management class earned Global Top 100 ranking for the Strategy Simulation Game. The game is part of the department's capstone course requirements designed for students to demonstrate their ability to apply management skills to a real world simulation. Students compete against approximately 11,000 teams worldwide.
In spring 2012, Colin Shea '12, an editorial intern at The Warren Group responsible for creating content for the print and online versions of Banker & Tradesman and The Commercial Daily, earned a professional byline as staff writer on the article "Local Credit Union Brings Banking Services to Members' Workplace," which appeared in the March 12, 2012 issue of Banker & Tradesman.
For a fall 2012 Principles of Marketing class, Julia Levins '14 developed a marketing campaign for an event to support Long Way Home, a nonprofit organization promoting education and environmental stewardship in Guatemala. Julia was able to get the event mentioned on the much-loved New England news magazine television show Chronicle.
