Each graduate will receive four (4) tickets for seating under the Commencement Tent. Each ticket admits one person, and tickets must be presented for entrance to the Commencement Tent. Seating cannot be guaranteed for arrival after 11:00 a.m. and seats may not be held. Weather-permitting, limited seating will also be available outside of the tent for non-ticket holders.

Commencement will be held in the tent on the Emmanuel campus, rain or shine. The ceremony will be livestreamed. For those without tickets to the Commencement Tent, there will be a simulcast of the ceremony with seating for 240 people in the Janet M. Daley Library Lecture Hall. The ceremony will also be simulcast on the flatscreens in the Library lobby and in the Jean Yawkey Center.

Tickets will be available through Marching Order. Graduates may access and claim their guest tickets on MarchingOrder and email the tickets to their guests. Guests may choose to print out their ticket or show the electronic ticket to be scanned.  All guests will need to check into the Guest Check-In and receive a wrist band in order to enter the Commencement Tent.

By presenting a guest ticket, all guests attest that they are not experiencing symptoms of Covid-19 or have not tested postive within the last 5 days.

Graduates with questions about ticketing should contact the Office of the Registrar.

Your diploma will display your earned degree (BA, BFA or BS). Your major will not appear on your diploma.

For more information regarding Latin Honors eligibility, please refer to the 2022-2023 Academic Catalog.

The College will send Commencement announcements to hometown newspapers on behalf of each graduate; it is up to the discretion of the individual newspaper to print the announcement. If there is a specific newspaper that students and families would like Emmanuel to contact, please e-mail pr@emmanuel.edu.

A professional photographer will take pictures of each graduate. Information about purchasing photographs will be sent to your home address in the coming weeks. If you have further questions, please contact Emma Borstel at borstele@emmanuel.edu or 617-735-9722.

All Class of 2023 graduates will receive an invitation to participate in the Graduating Student Survey. Students whose degrees were conferred in December 2022 will already have received their survey invitation while students whose degrees are being conferred in May 2023 will receive their online survey invitation via their Emmanuel email on Thursday the 13th of April. This short 10 minute online survey will ask graduates to provide feedback about their experiences at Emmanuel and describe their plans following graduation. All graduates who complete this important survey will be entered into a drawing to win great prizes (to be announced soon!) and survey responses will be used to improve programs and practices for current and future students, as well as to celebrate the post-graduation achievements of our graduates. Graduates who are planning on attending Commencement on Saturday, May 13, must complete the Graduating Student Survey prior to claiming their graduation tickets. Contact the Office of Institutional Research with any questions (ir@emmanuel.edu).
