Looking for a place to study on campus?

In addition to the Cardinal Cushing Library, Emmanuel’s campus offers several options for group and individual study.

Cardinal Cushing Library
The obvious choice for study space on campus! The first two floors of the Cardinal Cushing Library include ample seating and tables for group collaboration as well as individual studying carrels. Students also have access to computer stations and the assistance of Emmanuel's experienced library staff. For more focused study help, students can visit the Academic Resource Center (ARC) on the ground floor to take advantage of services including peer tutoring, study groups, academic counseling, math and writing specialists, disability support services and academic strategy workshops.

Additionally, there are group study spaces available in the Library Learning Commons, which may be booked up to two weeks in advance through the Student Resources section of the MySaints Portal. Note: these group study spaces are available for groups of two-to-four and are limited to two hours per day.

Eisner Administration Building
While the Eisner Administration Building's many classrooms and conference rooms are reserved throughout the day, these spaces are made available to students as areas for quiet and collaborative group study. Each evening, eight classrooms in the Administration Building are available late in the evening between 9:00 p.m. and 2:00 a.m. for either quiet study space or collaborative group work. Check the room reservation link on the portal for more information.

Additionally, five conference rooms are available between 5:00 p.m. and 2:00 a.m. ONLY, including rooms 337, 351, 352, 426 and 445. Note: these conference rooms are available for groups of two-to-four and are limited to two hours per day.

Maureen Murphy Wilkens Science Center
Open to all students day and night, each of the building's four floors features an atrium outfitted with chairs, sofas and tables ready for individual or group study. Students can also check out the center's breakout and conference rooms, which can be accessed with a valid Emmanuel ID.

The building also has two group study spaces available in rooms 103 and 113, which may be booked up to two weeks in advance through the Student Resources section of the MySaints Portal. Note: these group study spaces are available for groups of two-to-four and are limited to two hours per day.

Jean Yawkey Center
It may be the hub of campus, but it's also a great place to get schoolwork done. There's plenty of seating in the lower atrium, while the second floor serves as a popular place for students to read, write and meet with class groups.

St. Julie Hall
St. Julie Hall's first floor has study space available to all students, including the Plaza Lounge, Brookline Avenue Lounge, Group Study Rooms and the Margaret L. McKenna '83 Media Center. Group study spaces in St. Julie Hall can be reserved through the Resident Director.

Other Residence Halls
In addition to individual rooms, each of the other three residence halls has lounges available for studying.
