The 1804 society, named in honor of the founding year of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur by St. Julie Billiart, continues the tradition of mission at Emmanuel through a deeper understanding of the SNDs, the College history and Emmanuel's Catholic identity.
In turn, the students act as ambassadors for the college at annual traditions and celebrations. The six values of the 1804 Society are Community, Education, Goodness, Leadership, Service and Tradition.
The 1804 Society helps to provide distinguished representatives of Emmanuel College to the community and acts as peer educators on campus. The campus, including student organizations, academic departments, and college administrators, have the opportunity to utilize the 1804 Society to represent the Emmanuel community at their various events and activities.
