2007 Distinguished Alumnae Award Recipient
I knew from an early age that I wanted to be a teacher. Despite exploring a career in law after graduating from Emmanuel, I eventually decided to return to school to pursue my love of teaching. Making a career shift at that point in my life at first seemed daunting, but coming back to Emmanuel--a place I loved and felt so at home--eased my concerns.
One of my professors, Dr. Rosemary Tobin, gave me great advice and guidance. She told me I would be a great teacher and instilled in me a lot of confidence. Overall, Emmanuel prepared me very well for walking into the classroom.
When I was honored in 2007 with Emmanuel's Distinguished Alumnae Award for my achievement in education, it was one of the greatest moments of my life. I felt I had made my friends at Emmanuel proud.
