The course in the historical consciousness domain will be drawn from courses which survey a period in history or a region of the world and which demonstrate the methods and theories with which historians deal with such issues as causation, the role of perspective and judgement in reconstructing the past, conflicting interpretations of historical events and processes, and the ways in which evidence is analyzed and evaluated as a tool for reconstructing the past.
