Janet Hamilton Carr has taken over the as the class correspondent and is happy to take on this task for her class. Please send her your news! Janet's life has taken a whole new and exciting path lately. She retired from Northeastern University on June 24, 2004, where she had taught and worked in the research office as a grant writer for more than 23 years. She enjoys being at home and making her own hours, working out at Curves, reading, and helping out with her five grandchildren when she is needed. She is also doing a little consulting on the side and working on some fascinating research for a novel she hopes to write someday. Life is good. Janet would like to inform everyone that your classmate, Sally deCastro Dias, was the keynote speaker at last summer's Cape Cod Luncheon. Everyone had a lovely afternoon and Sally gave an informative talk that brought everyone up-to-date on Emmanuel, especially the changes that our College has undergone in the past few years. Judith Collins retired from the Milton Public School system after 39 years of teaching Spanish. Now she is working part time in a doctor's office. In the past two years, she has enjoyed traveling to Mexico, California, Ireland and Texas. November/December 2004
Alicia Mendalka Newman, president of the Laurel chapter of the Business and Professional Women, was named the chapter's Woman of the Year. In addition, Alicia received the Governor's citation from the state of Maryland in recognition of her award. Yet another honor for Alicia was awarded on October 18, 2004 at the Maryland Business and Professional Women's National Business Women's Week at the Fountainhead Country club in Hagerstown, MD. Currently, Alicia is employed by Partners in Care, an organization for disabled and elderly patrons. Proving her Woman of the Year status, Alicia also served her community as a Camp Fire leader and specialized committee chairwoman, Prince George's County home teacher, Spanish tutor and religious education teacher and lector at her local parish. Catherine Donahue Pratt has three lovely grandchildren, all of which are boys! Judith Doherty Higley's husband Russell just retired after 32 years as the City Solicitor for the City of Cambridge. Her son Mark and his bride Alina were married in Los Angeles, CA, in October 2003. They met as undergraduates at the Claremont Colleges in Claremont, California. Mark received a graduate degree from UCLA and Alina from USC. Nov/Dec 2003
Jacqueline Hingston Roberson retired from National Security Agency after 22 years. She is married, has four children, and is an active member of St. John Church in Columbia, MD. Sept/Oct 2003.
Marianne C. O'Malley's son, Mike O'Malley, co-stars in the CBS sitcom "Yes, Dear," which has been renewed for its fourth year. Mike is also a published playwright. Spring/Summer 2003.
Anne Power Parsons received a Religious Education award from the New Jersey Coalition of Inclusive Ministries, a division of the Boggs Center at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School for the Interfaith Scripture for the Disabled. She taught at Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Spring/Summer 2003.
Kathleen O'Donnell Dykstra received her Ph.D. from the University of Connecticut in 1997. She is now retired from her position as Administrator in Providence Public Schools. Spring 2002
Suzanne White Kelly holds a B.A. from Emmanuel College and a M.S. and Ph.D. in Microbiology from Arizona State University. She has been the chair of the Math/Science Division for the last six years at Scottsdale College in Arizona, a college with an enrollment approaching 11,000 students. Spring 2002
Ann Loranger is an Associate Professor of Education at the University of New Hampshire. She was presented an Excellence in Teaching Award in the College of Liberal Arts (2001-2002) at UNH. Spring 2002
Mary Ann Wall retired to Harwich, MA in June of 2000. Spring 2002
Judith A. Collins retired in June after thirty-nine years of teaching; thirty-eight of them at Milton High School and Pierce Jr. in Milton. Winter 2003.
Janet Carr received a promotion to Research Development Associate. She also published an article in NCURA newsletter in the July/August issue. Summer 2001
Judith Collins is a Spanish teacher for Milton High School. She plays guitar with a music group at Our Lady of the Rosary in Stoughton. Summer 2001
Dr. Rosemary Tipping Timoney is a grandmother to Alexandra who was a year old in January. She is very happy to have joined that special club. Summer 2001
