I am originally from Moscow, Russia and obtained my BS and MS degrees in physics from Moscow Pedagogical University. I worked there as a researcher and lecturer in applied physics. I finished my Ph.D. degree in May 2000 in Physical Chemistry, Clark University, Worcester, MA. Before coming to Emmanuel College, I taught in the Natural Sciences Department at Assumption College, Worcester, MA. My current research projects are centered primarily on designing suitable bioinorganic models (short to medium size synthetic peptides) for mononuclear copper-binding site in metalloproteins and enzymes using molecular dynamics simulations (SPARTAN, QUANTA, INSIGHTII). I am also interested in the incorporation of computer modeling exercises into the Physical Chemistry curriculum.

Courses:
CHEM1102 - Principles of Chemistry II
CHEM1105 - Presciption and Non-prescription Drugs
CHEM1107 - Introduction to Forensic Chemistry
