Elizabeth Barber Thompson welcomed her new grandchild, Samuel, to her youngest daughter, Dr. Elizabeth Thompson-Borris, on May 14, 2004. September/October 2004

Mary Magee O'Leary keeps busy serving on Town Boards, including the Selectmen, Housing Authority and Affordable Housing. She also enjoys traveling with her sister, Claire Magee McCoy '48 United States and Canada. May/June 2004

Patricia Murphy MacNeil will have replacement surgery the end of March so keep her in your prayers. Mar/Apr 2004

Peg Murphy Bush's daughter, Jennifer, was married in September 2003 to Roberto Cavazos. With five married and nine grandchildren her life is not dull. Jan/Feb 2004

Carolyn Bentley Carson writes that all is well with her family. Her daughter Jayne is a full Colonel in the U.S. Army stationed in Korea. Carolyn keeps busy with her grandchildren and enjoyed babysitting Jane's two this past summer in Denver. Julie and Leif live in Virginia Beach. Eric is with his wife Anna and 2-year-old Nils in Florida. Jan/Feb 2004

Peggy Lagasse Cohen describes her life in Groveland as quiet and leisurely. Peggy was recently in Delaware for her brother's 50th wedding anniversary. The Cohens have 2 sons — one in Pittsburg and another in Medford. Jan/Feb 2004

Mildred Corcoran Feloney's husband of 43 years, Paul, died on October 19, 2003. Classmate Mary Feloney  introduced her to Paul. Mary died when she was only 39. Mary and she were good friends at Emmanuel. Please pray for both of them.  Jan/Feb 2004

Eleanor Donovan Leonard is mourning the loss of her husband Alfred who passed away on July 24, 2003. Eleanor has two grandsons and is expecting a third in April of 2004.  Jan/Feb 2004

Rosemary Donahue Reiss reminds us that most of the '55ers were born in 1933, the year of the rooster on the 12-year Chinese calendar — we can all crow again in 2005. Rosemary spends time with her mother, age 96, who unfortunately has advanced Alzheimer's. Jan/Feb 2004

This has been the "Year of the Wedding" (well at least a few months) for the Ryan Family. Ann Kelley Ryan's youngest, Elizabeth (Libby) was married in her adopted home state of New Hampshire to Michael Kern in October 2003. Mike is from Texas, so sharing New England with his family was great fun. Early in January 2004, Ed married Laura Fantasia from Burlington. In the "small-world department," the celebrant was Father Al Faretra, a friend of Ed's from his counselor days at Camp Fatima in NH — and a first cousin of our own Ann Sullivan Casey Jan/Feb 2004

Our luncheon series continues with the most recent celebration at Anthony's Pier 4 — a real treat for our group that numbered 20 plus. Jan/Feb 2004

Marie Deignan Dempsey has sold her house and moved into a condo in Sudbury where she is busy with settling in and with her grandchildren. She travelled to St. Petersburg, Russia in November 2003. Nov/Dec 2003

Kathryn M. Fairbanks is currently translating Charles de Foucauld's Meditations on the Psalms, which will be published by the Jesus Caritas Lay Fraternity of Boston on their website, www.brothercharlesofjesus.org. Ann Marie Turley '69 is the site's web designer and webmaster.   Nov/Dec 2003

Sadly, Elizabeth Barber Thompson notes that her sister Marion Barber '61 died on April 24, 2003. We extend our sympathy to the Barber family.  Sept/Oct 2003.

Mary C. O'Leary serves on the Medway Housing Authority, Affordable Housing Committee and was newly-elected as selectman in Medway. She enjoyed a family trip to Ireland with brothers and sister Claire Magee McCoy '48 this spring! Winter 2003.

Grace S. Taylor continues to be inspired by her volunteer work at Perkins School for the Blind in the Infant and Toddler Program. The children have serious health problems and their parents are truly magnificent. It is a privilege to help them. Winter 2003.

Ruth Lally Brown was in town recently for a family wedding. She was full of great stories about life in a suburban town of some 90 people in Idaho. Spring 2002.

Peg Murphy Bush and her husband Art had the trip of a lifetime in spring of 2001 — six weeks in New Zealand and Australia. Much of the time was spent in the company of their son Gary, his wife Sharon and two granddaughters. Sharon's parents, who live in Sydney, hosted this happy group. Spring 2002.

Pat Dwyer Dawson is awaiting the birth of her seventh grandchild. The count is four boys and two girls. Pat's three boys and their families all live locally — a source of great joy. Spring 2002.

Marie T. Dempsey sold her six-bedroom home in Concord in June 2001 and moved to a condo on Concord Greene. She enjoyed her summer in Hyannis with family and friends. She now has ten grandchildren; the oldest is nine years old. Golf and bridge occupy her time along with babysitting. Spring 2002.

Our sympathy to Susan De Stefano Keenan on the death of her husband Philip.  Spring 2002.

Millie Corcoran Feloney and her husband Paul have moved to a smaller home at 75 Standish Street (still in Cambridge!). She is now an expert in "downsizing," but they do enjoy the ease of first-floor living. Spring 2002.

Dorothy Navarro Geary is enjoying retirement and her grandchildren. Spring 2002.

Mary Ann Connolly Kerrigan and Polly Donovan SmithWinifred Doherty are board members of LETS (Life Enrichment Transition Studies) sponsored by UMASS-Boston. Winifred Doherty has attended some of the offerings and highly recommends the program to all you life-long learners.  Spring 2002.

Mary Magee O'Leary has been newly elected to Medway's Board of Selectmen and is only the second woman to serve on the Board. She also serves as Chairman of Medway's Affordable Housing Committee and Housing Authority. Spring 2002.

Cora Ciriello Magginoi is still enjoying the memories of the wonderful spring 2001 wedding of her daughter Alexandra. The Cape provided the beautiful setting for scores of California visitors. The happy couple will live in California. Spring 2002.

In January 2001 our own Anne Sullivan Casey  was featured on the first page of The Pilot's edition of Catholic School Week celebration. Anne teaches Kindergarten at St. Mary's Parish School in Brookline, MA. Summer 2001.

Marie T. Deignan Dempsey's son and his wife just adopted a Russian baby girl, who is 10 months old. She now has 8 grandchildren and her daughter is expecting in April to make it 9. She went on an Alaskan cruise in August that was great fun. She spends her summers in Hyannis Port and is now into golf. Summer 2001.

Dorothy Navarro Geary retired from teaching at Woburn High School in June of 1999. Summer 2001.

Teresa Endyke Sidney has been retired for approximately two years from teaching at the secondary level. She is the busy mother of four — three daughters and one son, and grandmother of nine — six boys and three girls. Currently Teresa helps out her son who is on dialysis and one daughter who is completing chemotherapy. Happily she will be going to Florida with this daughter and her family for a much-deserved vacation. Summer 2001.

Jane Carolan Whittle is working at Chatham Elementary School as an Early Intervention Tutor five mornings a week and loves it. Summer 2001.

Our deepest sympathy and prayers to Barbara Donoghue McKinnon on the death of her husband Neil in November of last year and to Marie Deignan Dempsey on the December 2000 death of her mother, Marie. Summer 2001.
