Admission Requirements

The goal of the MSM program is to produce leaders who serve as models for successful management. As a professional with about three years of experience managing either people or projects (a management title is not required), you will benefit from the program's focus on effective leadership skills.

To be eligible for admission, candidates must possess a bachelor's degree.

Admission to the program requires:

  1. A completed application
  2. Official transcripts from any regionally accredited colleges/universities previously attended - download PDF request form. Please note: A cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above is generally expected for admission to a graduate program.
  3. Two letters of recommendation - download PDF
  4. A leadership/critical analysis essay * (description and length below)
  5. A current resumé
  6. A personal interview
  7. International student requirements - download PDF

* Leadership/Critical Analysis Essay (3-4 pages, double-spaced)

The essay should specifically address the following:

  • With the understanding that leadership involves influencing others, please give your personal definition of leadership.
  • Describe a professional situation in which you have used leadership to initiate change.
  • Describe a difficult professional decision and how you critically analyzed your options and reached a decision.
  • How can you use your prior experiences to make a special contribution to this graduate program and the learning of others?
