Major: Psychology; neuroscience concentration
During the fall of my freshman year I took a course on physiology and behavior and I loved the topics discussed. After that, I knew I wanted to pursue psychology/neuroscience and the best way to get hands-on experience was in a laboratory setting. The campus opportunities have ranged from working with a great research team investigating brain plasticity, presenting at multiple undergraduate research conventions, co-authoring a paper accepted to Brain Research Journal, to starting a grassroots student group called Psychology SURGE (Student Undergraduate Resources for Guidance at Emmanuel).
I have received a very holistic education at Emmanuel, as every part of me was encouraged to grow and develop. I look at the world through the eyes of a researcher, with critical thinking and curiosity as my tools of the trade. With that in my back pocket, I am confident I can succeed at virtually any career path I choose to pursue.
