What is the meaning of humanity? God? Freedom? Knowledge? Good? Evil? Challenge your values to strengthen them. Examine your life to fulfill it.

Philosophy

The original Greek idea of philosophy centered on the notion "love of wisdom." Wisdom is knowledge that enables us to understand reality and live a good life. In this spirit, the department strives to help students explore the meaning of humanity, God, freedom, knowledge, society, history, good and evil.

Career Paths

Law. Management. Human Resources. Journalism.

What can I do with my career?

The person who has learned to philosophize avoids the tragedy of an unexamined life. Furthermore, he or she is able to begin the elaboration of a worldview, to interpret his or her experience in life.

Students may acquire a minor in philosophy to complement their studies in the liberal arts and sciences. The study of philosophy is recommended for students planning careers in medicine, law, and teaching, and in fields requiring highly developed conceptual, logical and integrative skills.
