Financial Aid

Note: You must be accepted to the College before you can be awarded financial aid. However, you are encouraged to apply for financial aid before receiving notice of your admit status.

To apply for financial aid for the 2012-2013 academic year, the following applications are required. The priority filling date is February 15, 2012.

1. 2012-2013 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
 In order to complete the FAFSA online, both student and parent require a PIN number to access, make corrections and electronically sign the FAFSA. To obtain a PIN, please visit www.pin.ed.gov. To reduce processing time, we encourage students and parents to complete the FAFSA online; however the paper version of this application may be obtained from your high school guidance office or from our office. The Emmanuel College Title IV Code is 002147.

When completing or updating the FAFSA, we strongly encourage you and your parents to use the IRS Data Retrieval tool provided on the FAFSA. If not, you may need to request 2011 tax transcripts from the IRS.

2. 2012-2013 Emmanuel College Application for Financial Aid
Once you have completed this form, it can be printed, signed and mailed to the Office of Student Financial Services. If you prefer to have a paper application mailed to you, please contact our office at (617) 735-9938 or financialservices@emmanuel.edu

Continuing Students


To apply for financial aid for the 2012-2013 academic year, the following application is required. The priority filing date for returning students is March 1, 2012.

Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

The 2012-2013 FAFSA is available online at www.fafsa.govThe Emmanuel College Title IV Code is 002147. In order to complete the FAFSA online, both student and parent require a PIN number to access, make corrections and electronically sign the FAFSA. To obtain a PIN, please visit www.pin.ed.gov.

When completing or updating the FAFSA, we strongly encourage you and your parents to use the IRS Data Retrieval tool provided on the FAFSA. If not, you may need to request 2011 tax transcripts from the IRS.

Verification

Verification is a process by the federal government in which the federal processor randomly selects student's FAFSA information to be verified. You will be notified by the Emmanuel College OSFS if you have been selected for verification.

If you have been selected for verification, you and your family will be required to complete The Emmanuel College Verification Worksheet (available through the Emmanuel Portal) and use the FAFSA's IRS Data Retrieval tool which transmits tax information from your tax return to the FAFSA. If you are not able to use the FAFSA IRS Data Retrieval tool, you will be required to request tax transcripts from the IRS. Tax transcripts can be requested online at www.irs.gov or by calling 800-908-9946.
