Rev. John Spencer, S.J.
Associate Vice President for Mission & Ministry
Rev. John Spencer, a Jesuit, has extensive experience in pastoral ministry, working with college students in the residence halls at Boston College and as a clinical social worker. He holds degrees from Boston College, Weston School of Theology and Boston University School of Social Work.
M.S., Canisius College; B.A., Emmanuel CollegeMark Harrington is the Associate Director of Mission Engagement. Mark is responsible for the annual traditions, celebrations, and events of the Center not limited to lectures, discussions, and service-immersion experiences. Mark is also responsible with mission engagement programs to continue the legacy of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur at Emmanuel including advising the 1804 Society. Mark works closely with the divisions of student affairs, academic affairs as well as alumni relations to engage the greater Emmanuel community in the mission.
Prior to returning to Emmanuel College, Mark worked in student affairs at both Loyola University New Orleans and Canisius College. Mark currently serves on the school board at Our Lady of Perpetual Help - Mission Grammar School in Roxbury, Massachusetts and is involved in many different professional societies including the Association for Student Affairs at Catholic Colleges and Universities.
Mark earned his bachelor's degree in Counseling + Health Psychology from Emmanuel College, master's degree in College Student Personnel Administration from Canisius College and is currently pursuing his doctorate in Higher Education Leadership at Regis College.
Kara Moras is the Program Coordinator in the Center of Mission Engagement. Kara is responsible for assisting the in program planning and coordination involving annual traditions, celebrations, and events. Kara also works as a co-advisor of the 1804 Society, a student-led organization that prides itself on continuing to live out the legacy of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur on campus.
Kara earned her bachelor's degree in Counseling + Health Psychology from Emmanuel College and is currently pursuing her master's degree in Clinical Social Work at Simmons College.
