The Master of Science in Nursing degree offers two distinctive tracks—Nursing Education and Nursing Management—to prepare you for evidence-based practice. Both tracks begin with a solid foundation in nursing theory, ethics, research, diversity, information technology and health care policy through a set of core classes. Then, you’ll take an additional four courses in your selected track to earn your degree.
- Education track—Prepare for a role as a nurse educator, faculty member, staff development coordinator, clinical unit-based teacher or patient educator. Upon graduation you can seek national certification as a nurse educator as outlined by the National League for Nursing (NLN).
- Management Track—Train for a position as nurse administrator, nursing director, nurse manager, case manager, coordinator of clinical research projects or project director. Upon graduation you can seek national certification as a nurse administrator as outlined by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
