Financial Aid & Scholarships

Financial Aid Applications

Please note: To be considered for financial aid from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, a FAFSA must be received by the federal processor no later than May 1 prior to the start of the academic year. While students may still apply for financial aid after this deadline, they will only be considered for federal sources of financial aid.

For financial aid purposes, the 2017-2018 academic year begins with the Summer 2017 courses and concludes with the Spring 2018 courses. To apply for financial aid, the following applications are required:

Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

The 2017-2018 FAFSA is available online at fafsa.gov. In order to complete, make corrections to or electronically sign the FAFSA online, the student is required to have a FSA ID. To obtain a FSA ID (or request a duplicate if the original FSA ID has been misplaced), please visit fsaid.ed.gov

When completing or updating the FAFSA, students are strongly encouraged to use the IRS Data Retrieval tool provided on the FAFSA. If not, students may be required to request a 2015 tax return transcript from the IRS. Students will receive notification from the Office of Student Financial Services if additional information is required to determine financial aid eligibility.

Emmanuel College's Federal School Code is 002147.

Emmanuel College Application for Financial Aid

In addition to the FAFSA, Emmanuel College also requires financial aid applicants to submit an Emmanuel College Application for Financial Aid. This document may be completed online or by printing out the form and submitting via fax, email, mail or in person.

Loan Documents

Students receiving a Federal Direct Stafford Loan must complete a Master Promissory Note (MPN) and Loan Entrance Counseling with the Department of Education. Both of these documents may be completed at studentloans.gov.

Deadlines

As students may be accepted and begin courses at various times throughout the academic year, financial aid applications are typically submitted prior to the start of the first term of enrollment. All required documentation, however, must be received at least two weeks prior to the end of the semester in which the student is applying for aid. Failure to do so may result in the application not being processed and the student being financially responsible for any charges on the account.
