Alumni Weekend 2013

From May 31-June 2, 2013, members of the classes of 1943-2008 gathered on Emmanuel’s campus for Alumni Weekend!

On Friday afternoon, alumni had the opportunity to tour some of Boston’s best museums during trips to the Museum of Fine Arts and the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. The early evening brought a welcome back buffet for most classes and a 1990s Decade Dinner for the classes of 1993 and 1998. Evening activities included a visit to Symphony Hall to hear the Boston Pops play “Music from the Mad Men Era,” or a Throwback Pub Crawl with stops at local hotspots An Tua Nua, the Baseball Tavern and Cask ’n Flagon.

For the early risers, Saturday began with the Fourth Annual Emmanuel 5K Walk/Run “The Finish Line is Just the Beginning.” Afterward, alumni were able to take a trolley tour of Boston or a campus tour of the newly renovated Administration Building, led by student ambassadors.

Director of Campus Ministry and College Chaplain Fr. John Spencer, S.J. gave an afternoon lecture in the Cardinal Cushing Library titled “What Does it Mean to be Catholic in the 21st Century?”

Classes gathered on the front steps of the iconic Administration Building for reunion photos before gathering in the Auditorium for a welcome and College update from President Sr. Janet Eisner, SND. The Class of 1963 held a 50th Reunion Dinner in the Marian Hall Dining Room, while classes from 1968-2008 celebrated in the Gymnasium and our post-50th classes reminisced in the Atrium of the Jean Yawkey Center.

Before departing on Sunday afternoon, alumni processed by class into the Chapel for a special alumni Liturgy, followed by a post-50th reunion brunch for Emmanuel’s classes of 1943-1958.
