Christina Ascolillo '17
- Major: History and Political Science—American Politics & Government
- Graduation Year: 2017
While at Emmanuel, Christina took advantage of every networking opportunity that came her way, and she believes that the relationships she built through her internships were essential to securing her current position as director of communications and constituent services for Massachusetts State Representative Linda Dean Campbell.
In addition to her on-campus coursework in political science and history at Emmanuel, Christina served as a legislative intern in the office of State Representative Steven Ultrino and as a government relations intern for O'Neill and Associates. This work led her to meet many leaders in politics and government, including Attorney General Maura Healey, Speaker Robert DeLeo, Congressman Joseph Kennedy III, Congresswoman Katherine Clark and Governor Charlie Baker. It also gave her the chance to network with countless local representatives and senators, lobbyists and activists and leaders of interest groups and organizations.
Christina says that her Emmanuel experiences gave her an "unequaled" opportunity to develop communications, research, analytical and interpersonal skills, and these skills helped her stand out in her job search.
