Emmanuel College Appoints Vice President for Advancement

Simon Welsby will provide strategic leadership for all aspects of the College's efforts in fundraising and alumni relations, further building a program that will power Emmanuel's strategic priorities through its 2019 Centennial and beyond.

Emmanuel College has appointed Simon Welsby as vice president for advancement. Welsby--who most recently served as executive director of major gifts at Santa Clara University in California--will provide strategic leadership for all aspects of the College's efforts in fundraising and alumni relations, further building a program that will power Emmanuel's strategic priorities through its 2019 Centennial and beyond.

"Simon brings broad experience in leading, managing and mentoring teams of advancement professionals and in building effective collaborations with institutional leaders," said President Sister Janet Eisner, SND. "He is known for his ability to inspire donors and staff members alike, and holds a deep commitment to Catholic education. We are delighted to welcome him to the Emmanuel College community."

Welsby comes to Emmanuel with nearly three decades of experience as an advancement professional at institutions including Boston College and the New England Conservatory. At Santa Clara and elsewhere, he played senior roles in the planning and execution of major capital campaigns and special philanthropic projects. He began his new role at Emmanuel at the end of September.
